DESCRIPTION:ELIXR Simulation: Extended Reality and the Knowledge Metaverse is a free\, by-registration public event showcasing Alberta’s potential for developing and adopting extended reality (XR) in education\, training and risk management.\nJoin ELIXR’s 11 post-secondary and numerous industry partners for the launch of our XR MarketMaker Platform. ELIXR is opening up the world’s largest repository of XR applications and simulations for education right here in Alberta.  \nAttendees will have an opportunity to interact with members from California-based\, EON Reality\, world leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality academic and industry training solutions who will demonstrate many of the immersive features of their XR Platform\, including spatial meetings. \nThe event is being held in the Paul Byrne Hall in the Heart of the Robbins. 1st floor of the Robbins Health Learning Centre (building 9\, located on 109 St). \nCome along and learn about how XR is going to revolutionize the way we learn and the way we communicate. \nXR Competition\nIf you are an XR developer\, you’re invited to participate in ELIXR’s Top of the Pops XR Competition – there’s a $500 prize and an internship opportunity with EON Reality on the line. Live voting to determine the winner will occur during the event. Submission deadline midnight Sunday Nov. 13th.

Write or draw your ideas on a postcard and Blue Origin will actually send it to space on a New Shepard rocket\, then return it to you stamped “Flown to Space.” \nJet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL): The world’s leader in robotic space exploration\, JPL are sending rovers to Mars\, probes into the farthest reaches of the solar system\, and satellites to advance understanding of our home planet. \nExperience JPL’s software ProtoSpace\, a collaborative augmented reality CAD visualization tool that is actually used by our engineers to design and build for NASA. This is a hands-on demonstration to see a full-scale spacecraft in augmented reality! \nSurface Avatar (DLR x ESA): Developing robots designed to act in surroundings that are inaccessible or dangerous to humans\, and that can support humans in everyday life and work. \nVisit their booth to find out how astronauts are commanding a robot on Earth\, exactly like several crew members have done from the ISS! Using the same multi-modal user interface\, you will command a humanoid robot\, Rollin’ Justin\, in a variety of tasks in a simulated Martian environment. \nPuli Space: Alumni of the Google Lunar XPRIZE\, Puli Space develops a lightweight\, low cost planetary rover with unique mobility capabilities to explore lunar water resources. \nAt the ANA Avatar XPRIZE Tech Fair\, they’ll present the Puli rover I2.61 – visitors can experience its Mission Control interface and drive the rover. Plus\, they’ll demo the NASA awarded Puli Lunar Water Snooper\, a miniaturized neutron detector\, which will search for water ice on the Moon. \nCan’t make it?
