SUMMARY:Edmonton WHO - Climate Change and it's Impact on Public Health
DESCRIPTION:EdmontonWHO simulates the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO).\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nEdmontonWHO simulates the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO)\, this year our conference topic is on “Climate Change and it’s Impact on Public Health”. \nOur goal is to introduce students to the fundamental operations of the World Health Organization and create opportunities for all participants to play a proactive role in learning about global health and policy. The conference brings together students from a wide range of disciplines to discuss global health issues in a manner that is respectable and intended to develop a deeper understanding of health\, sustainability\, and progress. The Edmonton World Health Organization Simulation is an interactive three day mock United Nations conference for post-secondary and high school students to debate global health topics. Our aim is to simulate the political\, social\, cultural and economic realities that define the world of global health policy. In addition\, we hope to expose students to potential future related interdisciplinary career options. We operate as a transnational project of the International Federation of Medical Students\, through which we hope to send resolutions created during our conference to the actual WHO. Edmonton WHO is also a project under the nonprofit organization\, Edmonton Simulation Conferences. \nFor more information please contact: ewho@ualberta.ca \n—————————————————————- \nTICKETS include: conference\, meals (dinner\, breakfast x2 + lunch x2)\, gala admission and prizes \nPlease note tickets are non-refundable. \nLocation\n\nUniversity of Alberta \n8900-114 street\, Edmonton\, AB T6G 2R3 \nView Map

SUMMARY:RainForest LWOL - Colin Christensen
DESCRIPTION:March 6th – Colin Christensen from THNQ\nColin refuses to accept the status quo of the world. He’s constantly reading (about 500 books a year) and studying to find out why things are the way they are and what can be done about making them better. After having started\, sold\, failed\, grown and invested in businesses over the last 20+ years\, Colin curated a freely accessible model designed to be the best way to start and grow a business called The Whole Entrepreneur – with the crazy goal of defeating the unnecessary failure in entrepreneurship worldwide. \nWhile his day job is helping entrepreneurs from startup to $20M build meaningful profit and love their life through his business THNQ\, he is also launching a pilot project for microlending and entrepreneur development in Central America; building a construction incubator/accelerator\, and reinventing drywall. \nColin’s kaizen mindset stretches through family\, marriage\, church\, business\, life\, fitness\, the way we learn\, the way we grow\, relationships\, humility\, philosophy\, technology and more. \nColin’s central core value is entrepreneurship. As an advocate\, he is a part of the Rainforest Initiative in Alberta\, several mentoring groups\, supporting the development of entrepreneurs globally through HOPE Worldwide and his class on innovation and entrepreneurship is the most sought-after program for school-age kids through the Career Pathways at the EPSB. \nAgenda:\n\n11:45 Check In (bring your lunch!)\n12:00 Welcome\n12:10 Who is in the Room?\n12:25 Entrepreneur Profile\n12:45 Networking\n\nYou should come prepared to discuss who you are\, what interested you in the Rainforest\, what you are working on\, and how you can help others in the room.
