DESCRIPTION:The Great Prairies Pitch Marathon is a startup ‘Show and Tell’ that showcases Prairie startups from all sectors and stages in a friendly setting with a supportive audience. There are no prizes. No awards. No judges. Just entrepreneurs pitching to the community\, showcasing their companies and seeing how members of the audience may be able to help them grow. \nWe plan to run over 200 3-minute pitches between 8 am and 5 pm MDT (9 am – 6 pm CT) on August 18\, 2022 via Zoom\, followed by an awesome in-person afterparties in YEG\, YYC\, YXE\, YQR\, YWG! \nGoals\n– Entrepreneur-led community building with peer-to-peer support for startups across all stages and sectors\n– Friendly\, competitive spirit to incite startups to raise their game in a globally competitive world\n– Showcase Prairies startups to various stakeholders locally and globally\n– Learn about the diverse companies growing here in the Prairies\n– Provide feedback\, referrals and introductions to Prairie startups \nNotes:\n– Organizations from across the Prairies will co-host each hour-long pitch segment\n– The event will be hosted on Zoom with a lively chat and streamed to YouTube\n– Audience members are encouraged to make suggestions\, recommendations and referrals in the chat\n– Everyone gathers together (virtually) and then may choose to attend an in-person afterparties in Edmonton\, Calgary\, Saskatoon\, Regina and Winnipeg.\n– Family friendly.
